Dining Room Redo Using the Kerry Damask Stencil
Cutting Edge Stencils Shares a Damask Stenciled Formal Dining Room
Welcome back, my stenciling friends! Lately, Cutting Edge Stencils has been spotting tons of downright gorgeous stenciled dining rooms on Pinterest. Shall we tempt you with our deliciously stenciled dining spaces? Ok, here's a few just to whet your palette...
Here is Kerri's damask stenciled formal dining room. She's the blogger behind Kerri at Home and she recently stenciled her entire dining space using our Anna Damask pattern in a soft white over flat grey. Gorgeous, right?
Then Shawne used our Cascade Stencil to create a geometric accent wall in her dining room. She had this to say about her stenciling adventure, "Love this stencil. Had a party here last night and everyone raved about my wall!" It's so pretty we can see why!
And we had a hard time taking our eyes off Danea's stenciled walls. She used our Trellis Allover Stencil in a heart-warming yellow. The intricate pattern and inviting hue make this space feel grand, yet welcoming.
Have you noticed of a bit of trend yet? Stenciled dining rooms are totally HOT and it makes sense to us! As the cooler weather sets in, people are moving their dinner parties, social gatherings and friendly soirees indoors. What could be better than spending time with family and friends? How about spending it in a pretty patterned space? If you're on board with this DIYdining room trend then you're going to LOVE our next feature... Let's meet Kristel, the home decor enthusiast and DIYer behind the blog The Velvet Door, and admire her dining room makeover with featuring a stenciled accent wall. Kristel started with a very pretty but plain dining room (see below). Her dining room transformation all began with a steal of a find on Craigslist. She snagged a set of damask embroidered chairs that later served as her inspiration for her stenciled wall. Here she is starting her stenciling process. Kristel used blue painters tape to adhere her stencil to the wall. This worked best to keep the large damask design in place. Then she used a roller to paint the stencil pattern. For the base of the wall, she chose a color similar to Benjamin Moore's adams gold HC-18. Her stencil was painted in a color similar to westwood tan 256. But wait a minute... Do you notice the little shimmer her pattern seems to have? That's because she mixed Valspar's Glitter Gold into her stencil paint before she painted the stencil on the wall. Now when the light hits the stencil there's a subtle sparkle that you can't help but love! Presto Chango and there you have it folks! Here is Kristel's absolutely stunning dining room. She says, "I love how the stencil turned out, it looks like wall paper." It sure does. Kristel says the best part is, "Now I have a dining room I can feel proud showing off to guests." We love seeing our stenciling friends so happy! PS. Are you loving the decor accessories in this dining room? We're also digging the fact that some of these could easily be recreated using stencils! Like those damask chairs which were her original inspiration for the room. Simply use our Anna Damask Stencil on a set of plain fabric chairs and you could easily recreate this look! Yes, stenciling a chair is doable and it looks amazing. Check out this detailed tutorial by one of our blog partners, Amy from Amy's Casablanca, regarding painting chairs.
