Flower Stencils Blossom In A Home Office
Stenciling Home Decor Projects Using the Zinnia Grand Stencil
Happy Friday, my DIY decorators!
Cutting Edge Stencils would like to officially welcome spring! It's been a long (very cold) winter here in Ramsey, New Jersey. We are very ready to trade in those mittens and winter whites for bright colors and big floral prints. After all, we wholeheartedly feel that spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's Party!"As luck would have it, we have been seeing flower stencils blossom in home decor. Today we're sharing a bouquet of stenciled projects, including a flower stenciled office, featuring one of our most popular flower stencils, the
Zinnia Grande.
Here's a gorgeous table we spotted on Pinterest from our fab fan, Nicole Elso. She painted an old table red and then stenciled our our
Zinnia Grande stencil and
Indian Inlay Kit in white.
Then check out this super fun

Delta Frames Girl in ombre orange.
Now let's move onto that fab stenciled office space that we promised. We'd like to introduce you to Sue, the creative DIYer and decorator behind the blog
Newberry Sykes. Sue wanted to give her office space an overhaul. See, when she moved into her house, she painted the office a mid-toned grey-brown and called it decorated. She was using a mish-mash of furniture that made the space feel uninspiring. Here's a snapshot of the before.
Since Sue knew she wanted a work space that was calm and sophisticated, she put together this mood board.
Do you see that gorgeous flower design? Yup that's our
Zinnia Grande stencil. Sue decided to stencil the flower pattern across her walls using silver and white pearlescent craft paint. She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil pattern in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern on the wall. Rather than plan out the placement of the stencil, she positioned them as she painted for a free form look. Here's a shot of the stenciling process. We love her little stencil helper!
Once the stencil was complete, Sue added some orange and aqua accessories for accent colors to complete the look. Ready to see what her new office looks like? Here is Sue's upbeat yet sophisticated space! She had this to say about her makeover, "I’m so happy with how my office looks now, and the flowery walls make me feel like I’m working in a garden."
Here is a close-up of the flower stencil with one of her favorite sayings.
