For the past three years, Kristin has rocked the design blog world with the high-end looks she has created in her 1950's ranch. Since she's constantly sharing her tricks with her readers, it made perfect sense for HGTV Magazine to reach out to her. The publication asked Kristin, along with three other style bloggers, to decorate a space using creativity instead of cash. The goal was to share some easy dollar stretching tricks that are right on the money! We totally think that Kristin's project was a success. Here is a peek: A Cascade stenciled wall accent featured in HGTV Magazine. http://www.cuttingedgestencils.com/products/cascade-allover-stencil-pattern The Challenge: Kristin was tasked with styling around a living room sofa. The first thing she did was paint the walls a deep sapphire blue and hang a pair of brushed-gold sconces. Large pieces of artwork can be super expensive so Kristin slipped on her DIY hat. She decided to stencil our Cascade Allover Stencil, an eye-catching geometric pattern, onto the wall. She painted the pattern in a hot pink hue and then framed it using gold painted MDF molding. In the center of the stenciled wall accent, she hung a starburst mirror. We love how vibrant the space looks! 1. Kristin used painter’s tape to tape off a rectangle with indented corners. Then she painted the rectangle white. Be sure to remove the tape while the paint is still wet and let the wall dry.
2. Tape the stencil to the rectangle using blue painter’s tape. Then apply your paint using a dense foam roller. For this project, Kristin used the Cascade Allover Stencil and hot pink acrylic craft paint.
3. Cut pieces of molding to the same dimensions as the stenciled rectangle on the wall and paint them gold.
4. Once the molding is dry, nail it to the wall around the stenciled accent. Easy steps for recreating this Cascade stenciled wall accent featured in HGTV Magazine. http://www.cuttingedgestencils.com/products/cascade-allover-stencil-pattern
