How To Stencil An Accent Wall Using The Harlequin Pattern
Wall Stencils Can Add Interest To A Plain Wall
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends. Today we're sharing how to give a blank wall some personality with a diamond pattern, using our
Harlequin Allover Stencil.
An accent wall with a harlequin pattern creates an interesting visual when you walk into the room. Our
stencil designs make painting this
wall pattern super easy. Let's take a look...
We'd like to welcome back Greg, one of the Cutting Edge Stencils owners and an avid DIYer. Greg has been on a
stenciling kick lately and this time he chose to add a pretty diamond pattern to a blank wall. He prefers painting a stencil pattern to using wallpaper because stenciling is affordable and easy.
For those who love tutorials, Greg put together this quick instructional video using the
Harlequin Allover Stencil. In this brief video, Greg shows fans how easy it is to stencil an accent wall using this trendy wall pattern.
Let's walk through the steps for completing this project. Greg started with a freshly painted white wall. He decided to use our
diamond wall pattern to create an custom accent wall.
With his geometric inspired pattern in hand he was ready to start stenciling! Greg carefully taped the stencil to the wall. He used the
clip-on stencil level to ensure the pattern was even on the wall. This tool is very handy when completing a wall project. He used a two inch dense foam roller to paint the pattern in a black color.
Greg made sure he rolled off any excess paint on a piece of paper towel. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed. Once the entire design was painted, he carefully removed the Harlequin Stencil from the wall to reveal the eye-catching pattern.
Since the wall was not complete, Greg lined up the stencil using the interlocking pattern. Our stencil designs make overlapping the previously painted part easy. The three large diamond patterns that protrude from the design is where the stencil should line up.
After it was lined up and taped to the wall, he continued to paint the traditional
Harlequin wall pattern.
When the wall was finished, Greg completed the look with some modern looking decor. He then stepped back to admire the harlequin wall pattern. Are you ready to see his stenciled accent wall using our
Harlequin design? We thought so!
We love the sharp style that this classic pattern paired with this bold color combination gives this accent wall.
