Playfully Eclectic Home Tour
Stencil Patterns and Bold Color Bring Personality To Your Home Decor!
Welcome back, my DIY stenciling friends! Cutting Edge Stencils has a guilty pleasure to share with you today. We love getting a sneak peak into stenciled homes. It might be a bit voyeuristic but we truly enjoy seeing how people pair colors and patterns to create their stunning spaces. Recently we came across this playfully eclectic home that featured wall stencils in several rooms, as well as a mix of patterns and bold colors. Come take a tour with us...
Meet Meg, the creative gal behind the blog Skinny Meg. Meg appears to ooze positive energy on her blog and her home truly represents her playful, eclectic nature. Meg spotted our Polka Dot stencil on Pinterest and it was love at first sight. It was also the inspiration to redo her master bedroom. First, she repainted her bedroom in Sherwin Williams Monorail Silver. Then she painted the playful polka dot pattern using Sherwin Williams Rhinestone. On a separate note, Meg says this is "by far the easiest stencil" she's used and the entire project took her about two hours to complete with a toddler in tow. That's pretty awesome! Back to the bedroom tour. The grey and white stenciled walls work nicely with the pops of color Meg has throughout her space. The pink and teal DIY jewelry area that she created against her neutral patterned wall is the perfect example. We love the look of her new master bedroom.
Let's take a stroll on over to her dining room. Meg won our Brocade No. 1 Stencil in a blog giveaway. The family had a dining room that they rarely used. It just didn't reflect their personal style and they had no desire to spend time in this space. Meg's dining room transformation was sparked by winning the stencil. She decided to use it to create an accent wall. Here is what it looked like right after she stenciled... But the transformation didn't stop there. Meg continued to make improvements on the room by painting a second hand hutch, adding home made pillows, and hanging bambina the deer head. She says, "We used to never go in there, now it's like a real part of the house!" And we can see why! The new dining room is SO cool. We love how Meg makes her eclectic look work by using a consistent color palette and varying the patterns sizes. She also paints her walls a neutral hue and allows her home decor items to be her pops of color. Before we let you go, we also want to show you her living room which features a gorgeous zig-zag pattern. While Meg hand painted this particular striped pattern, you could easily replicate her look using our Chevron Stencil and Martha Stewart's Talc Grey and Pebblestone. Isn't it so fun? And that my DIY friends, is the end of our tour! To see more of Meg's playfully eclectic house, be sure to hop on over to Meg's blog. How do you feel about this playful eclectic look?
