Revive A Living Room With A Stencil

Stencils Are an Easy and Affordable Way to Brighten A Living Room

Welcome back, my stenciling pals. Cutting Edge Stencils is curious if you watched the big game yesterday? The Super Bowl is fun whether you like to watch football or you just like the idea of gathering with friends and family for chips, dip and your favorite spicy wings. But today is a day of cleanup, so as you wipe the nacho cheese off the end tables and sweep up the leftover chips, we'd like you to consider reviving your living room. Whether you are looking to completely redo your space or give your living room a simple update, you'll find a stenciled accent wall is easy and affordable. Let's take a look at a fab makeover story.

Meet Mandi, a decorating enthusiast and avid DIYer behind the blog Vintage Revivals, and admire her living room makeover featuring one of our wall stencils. Mandi has completed several living room makeovers but this one is our favorite! Mandi was in the process of transforming her home into a designer haven. Here is the plain beige living room before its makeover. Then she won a free stencil from Crafting With The Stars, a crafting contest on Sew Dang Cute Crafts. For her prize, she chose our Casablanca Allover pattern. It's an inverse stencil which means all of the lines of the pattern are the base color and the quarterfoil is filled with your top color. Since she was hoping to brighten the living room, she decided to paint the stencil in a white color similar to Benjamin Moore's distant gray 2124-70. Here she is working through the stencil process. She realized the colors weren't working for her. She said, "I kind of hate them. The design is wonderful but it just looks crappy." She decided to switch it up and paint the whole wall white and then stencil it in gray. OK, folks are you ready for the big reveal? Drumroll, please! Here is Mandi's revived living room. She had this to say about her newly stenciled space, "I love the way that my living room turned out." We think the Casablanca Allover Stencil makes a world of a difference!
