Stenciling a Woodland Fairytale

Cutting Edge Stencils Shares A Woodland Themed Little Girl's Bedroom

Good Morning, my stenciling princesses! Just last week Cutting Edge Stencils shared ideas to help you create your own tiny kingdom inspired by some of our favorite Disney princesses. Do you remember when we shared our Snow White, nature-inspired mood board using our Birch Forest Stencil? Well it seems our decor ideas may have cast a spell on Erin from A Bird And A Bean. Today we're going to sweep you off your feet with a fairytale makeover and a woodland themed little girl's bedroom. But before we share the grand reveal, we want to walk you through a little of the transformation. Erin was 8 months pregnant with her second child when they moved into their home. Her older daughter, nicknamed The Bird, was still in a crib but they needed it for the new baby. So they decided to transition The Bird into a big girl room rather quickly and skipped the decorating process. Erin had the room painted a petal pink, bought a cute shabby-chic comforter set from Target, and called it a day. Here is the pink bedroom before its makeover. Except for the fact that The Bird is not a shabby-chic kind of chick. We'd probably call her more of a modern day Snow White because she's a sweet little dreamer who adores woodland creatures. Erin wanted to create a room that her daughter would love. She was working on a tight budget and needed to be very crafty with this makeover. To create the perfect woodland retreat, she painted our Birch Forest Allover Stencil in Sherwin Williams white over her existing pale pink wall (Porter Paint Bridesmaid Posy 138-2). Erin said, "Honestly, using the wall stencil was easier than I thought it would be." She used our clip-on stencil level to ensure the stencil was even at all times and blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place. Then she painted the woodsy pattern using a dense foam roller. All of these items are included in our Stencil Essentials Kit. Are you ready for it? Here is Erin's woodland themed little girl's room. She had this to say about her newly stenciled space, "My personal favorite part of the room is the awesome new birch wall. I am in love with the way it looks." Absolutely adorable!
