Stenciling A Bedroom Accent Wall
Stenciled Accent Walls Are An Easy Decorating Update
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Does your bedroom need a quick pick me up? Sometimes all your spaces need is a fresh coat of paint and dash of pattern.
Wall stencils are the perfect decorating solution because they are easy to paint and much more affordable than wallpaper. Let's take a look at how one DIYer used our
Tamara Trellis Allover stencil to update her master bedroom.
We'd like to welcome back Lindsay, the creative mastermind and blogger behind
My Creative Days. Lindsay had just wrapped up a makeover for her daughter's bedroom when she took a good look her master and felt it was time for a change. The walls were painted a powder blue and headboard was a steal of a deal because it was a floor model.
It's a cute space, right? But there's always room for improvement. Lindsay felt that the headboard was too large for the small space. She stumbled upon a beautiful barn door at the
Elegant Barn Sale and knew she wanted to incorporate it into the bedroom but she wasn't sure how. She also knew that she wanted an accent wall. Lindsay put her DIY thinking cap on and decided to stencil the accent wall behind her bed. She commented, "I could paint the stencil on the wall and is wasn’t as permanent as wallpaper and I would not feel bad if I wanted to change it in five years." After searching our large stencil collection, she fell in love with the
Tamara Trellis Allover stencil.
Lindsay used blue painters tape to adhere the stencil to the wall and painted the trellis pattern using a soothing gray hue. Once the stencil was complete, Lindsay used the old barn door as a headboard. Ready to see how it all turned out?
Lindsay had this to say about her bedroom makeover, "I think this wall makes a big statement in our bedroom. I am so glad we did it."
