Starfish Stenciled Nursery
Meet Kimi and George, the proud parents to be of baby Olivia. Recently they shared their gorgeous nursery design on Apartment Therapy, a super popular decor website. When Kimi and her husband found out they were having a girl, they both decided they didn't want a traditional pink nursery. Instead they wanted to have fun with the space and have it reflect something meaningful to the family. And what could be more meaningful than a salute to their heritage? Kimi said, "We are both from the Caribbean — George is from Puerto Rico and I'm from the Dominican Republic — so an island or beach theme was our first thought." With a theme in mind the couple was easily able to select a color scheme of mint and coral accented with brass and gold. Since Kimi has a background in design, she popped her palette and furniture ideas into a sketching program. Here's what she came up with:
