Good morning, my super stylin' mamas! How many of you have said "When I have kids, I will never let my child's toys take over my home." Raise your hand if it's true. Come on, be truthful. Ok, and now that you have a little bundle of trouble, tell us how many of you either have a playroom or wish you do? We thought so! We'd like to introduce you to Kelly, a proud mama and home decorating enthusiast behind the blog Modern Camelot. Kelly admits to being THAT person before she was a Mom. She swore she would never have a playroom or a toy cluttered home. She even admittingly joked about her great room post where she boasted about her lack of toy clutter and how it looked like adults lived there. Here's a picture from her great room reveal.
Gorgeous, right? Well, Kelly is not only a decor enthusiast but she's also the proud mama to a little girl. When she had given her great room a makeover, her little one wasn't as mobile. Once she became a full blown toddler, a play space was inevitable. Never say never! Kelly and her husband ditched the formal dining room in order to create a kid friend play space. The best part about this room makeover is that Kelly didn't completely throw in the design towel and create a primary colored toy zone. She kept in mind that the playroom was going to be visible from other main areas of the house and she wanted to ensure the flow and design was consistent. She wanted a modern playroom that was "youthful, but aesthetically pleasing. " Here is her space after the makeover.
Kelly painted our Birch Forest Allover Stencil in a color similar to Benjamin Moore's revere pewter HC-172. She had this to say about her stenciled space, "This accent wall is amazing. My heart skips a beat every time I walk by!" Then she gathered some colorful accessories, which we'll mention in just a bit. We think this room is adorable yet super stylish.
