A Whimsical Stenciled Nursery Featuring The Polka Dot Allover Stencil

Happy Friday, my DIY mamas! Orange or Aqua, tell us which bright and cheery hue do you prefer for a nursery? Are you having trouble choosing between the two popular colors? That's ok. These days it's perfectly acceptable to take two of your favorite contrasting colors and pair them up with a neutral, like gray. Toss in a stenciled accent wall and you'll have yourself a colorful nursery filled to the brim with personality. Today, Cutting Edge Stencils is sharing an aqua and orange colored nursery idea with a Polka Dot stenciled accent wall. It's bright, cheery, and contains stylish accessories! We'd like you to meet Laura, the soon to be proud mama of Baby Bradley and blogger from Our Styled Suburban Life. The couple planned to turn the spare room into the baby's nursery and settled on a color scheme even before they found out they were having a baby boy. They had a vision which included gray polka dot walls with orange and aqua accents. Laura says, "Polka dots just make me think baby, cute, and whimsical, so I love it!" Painting the walls was first on the list and Laura had them painted Behr's Pewter Mug, a stylish gray. Then her husband, Nate, discovered our large Polka Dot Allover Stencil and let's just say it was love at first sight. They painted the spotty pattern on two walls in Behr's Quietude. He used painter's tape to hold the stencil in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern. To compliment the whimsical stencil design, she used colorful accents of aqua and orange for the bedding and decor. Here is Laura's gorgeous nursery. Laura's advice to other parents that are planning a nursery project is, "Select things that YOU love, not what everyone else loves!
