Serene Retreat using the Harlequin Trellis Stencil
We'd like you to meet Christina, the blogger behind the Mouse In Your House Blog. She had a chance to chat with designer, Arrington Russell, on her traditional chic decorating style. When decorating a space, Arrington shared that she loves to keep the wall color neutral using a color like
Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter because it's a classic gray with a warm tone. Arrington says, " By keeping the walls neutral a client has the ability to change the space. To add color, I love an accent wall with a unique stencil.
Cutting Edge Stencils’ website has great ideas as well as quality wall stencil options. An accent wall can bring color, texture, or pattern into a room without over powering the space. Oh yeah, and you can paint right over it!" We couldn't have said it any better! In her master bedroom, she painted a neutral color on the wall and then stenciled the
Harlequin Trellis Allover pattern. The master bedroom is traditional, chic, and absolutely gorgeous!
Colorful Oasis using the Marrakech Trellis Stencil
Next up we have Sarah Hubbell, the editor-in-chief for
Emma Magazine. After moving into a cozy mid-century ranch style home, Sarah began updating the space by painting the kitchen, ripping out old carpet and designing the nursery. Unfortunately, she neglected the space she probably spends the most time in each day, the master bedroom. Two years went by before she tossed in the bed sheets and decided to give the space a much needed makeover. Sarah loves mixing patterns and decorating with bold colors. She selected a complimentary color palette of navy and yellow. Then painted an accent wall using the
Marrakech Trellis Allover pattern in a deep blue. The rest of the room was pulled together by mixing new pieces, like this yellow tufted headboard from
Hayneedle, and thrift store finds, like a crate repurposed as a night stand.
