This glittering color can add sparkle to any space, especially a bedroom. Come take a look at dazzling master bedroom makeover that features an allover pattern in glamorous gold.
We'd like you to meet Nellie, the lifestyle blogger behind
Wired Witty and Well Dressed. Nellie felt her bedroom was bland and needed a makeover. This is what it looked like before:
It was a pleasant space but she needed a change. Nellie was tired of her latte colored walls and said, "Our dark brown bedroom set, the dark vanity, chocolate brown curtains, and an ivory beige rug all made for some ugly brown throw up party." She set out to add color and pattern to perk up the room. First she decided to paint the walls an eggplant purple. Nellie bought a color similar to Benjamin Moore's
kalamata AF-630, a rich and regal velvety plum.
The new color was dark and dramatic. To further enhance the space, Nellie decided to paint a pattern on the back wall. After browsing on our website, she fell in love with is our
Diamond Damask pattern, a beautiful damask design. She used blue painter's tape to hold the stencil in place and she painted the pattern in a Martha Stewart Metallic Paint in Antique Gold from Home Depot.
As she would remove the stencil to paint the next section Nellie said, "It immediately started looking awesome!"
After the stencil was complete, Nellie added the final decorating touches like a new plush rug and euro pillows. Ready to see how her bedroom makeover turned out? Here is the finished room.
Nellie had this to say about her bedroom makeover, "I am so so very in love with this room now. We had a house warming right after we finished this wall, and many people thought we wallpapered this wall. I’m super impressed with how this turned out."
