Stencils Add Style To An Accent Wall In A Master Bedroom Makeover

Good morning, my DIY friends! Cutting Edge Stencils is always touting that it's super easy to use a stencil to achieve a wallpaper look. It's true and we stand by our word! Don't believe us? Then you're going to love the project we're sharing today. Come see how one DIY blogger used our Fuji Allover pattern to create a wallpaper-like accent wall. We'd like to introduce Chelsea, the creative decorator behind the blog Style Mutt Home. Chelsea loved her bedroom but she said, " I really wanted to give our master bedroom a more boho chic look and to modernize our family heirloom bed." Here is what it looked like: It's a nice space, isn't it? Chelsea had inherited her headboard and while it's a stunning piece of furniture, it was a bit of a showstopper in the room. Its presence made the bedroom have a different stylistic tone from the rest of the house. Chelsea was looking for a way to bring her boho chic style into her boudoir and an accent wall was just the answer. So she took to the web to find the perfect wallpaper to make her bedroom dreams come true. Then she stumbled upon a gorgeous print at $225/roll. WHOA! That's when Chelsea decided to stencil a wallpaper look using the Fuji Allover pattern. Chelsea used painter's tape to hold the stencil in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern. She painted the geometric pattern in a muted navy blue. After she painting one section, she would un-tape the stencil and reposition it to stencil a new section. She did this until the pattern was complete on the accent wall. Once the whole wall was stenciled, Chelsea put her gorgeous bed back in place and added her favorite decor elements. Chelsea commented, "I can't believe I didn't do this sooner! Our room looks much more 'us' now - so eclectic and laid back. Definitely snapped up!" Doesn't her wall look amazing?
