The Year Of Change Challenge Featuring Stencils
DIY Stencil Projects Can Make a Big Impact on Any Space!
Welcome back, my stenciling friends! We're three months into the new year and Cutting Edge Stencils is curious how all those decor projects that you vowed to complete in January are coming along? Have they fallen by the wayside? Don't stress. We're here to fill you in on a monthly decor challenge that will kick-start those decor projects once again.
What is The Year of Change Challenge? Well the gals over at Suburban Bitches along with Commona My House, Life on Virginia Street , and Rosa Beltran Design have created a year long project to help keep everyone on track with those home decor goals. Each month they're going to tackle small projects that produce a big impact in their homes. Let's take a look at what they completed.
Meet Erin, one of the gals behind Suburban Bitches. She has been working on transforming her basement with one small DIY project at a time. Not too long ago she took a crack at hanging some DIY marquee lights spelling out the word 'lounge' in her basement. The new sign looked awesome, but the wall was missing something. So Erin decided to give it the stenciled treament. She chose our Beads Allover stencil because she felt it had a mid-century vibe that would be the perfect compliment to the lounge area she was creating in her basement. Her wall was already painted Benjamin Moore's revere pewter HC-172 and she selected a darker gray, Benjamin Moore's knoxville gray HC-160, for the stencil color. For this particular stencil pattern, Erin found our stencil level to be really handy. She said, "Since the stencil pattern was composed of vertical lines, having the stencil be completely level was really important, otherwise the lines started to meander and it was really obvious." Once the stencil was complete, Erin stepped back and had this to say, " I am loving the look this stencil gave to this little nook of our basement!" We love the look of her new lounge!
