Good Morning, my stenciling diy home decorators! Lately, Cutting Edge Stencils has been hanging out on one of our most favorite social media platforms, Pinterest. Are you there with us? We know, we know; it can slightly addicting to see all that home decor eye candy one place. We love it and we also LOVE what we've been seeing there as well. Lots and we mean lots of stenciled accent walls! Ah, the accent wall. In most cases (pretty much every case :), we are HUGE fans. If you love home decorating as much as we do then we're sure you're familiar with the big designer debate; to create an accent wall or not to. We firmly believe that accent walls can liven up an otherwise dull space without too much commitment especially when stenciled. Most of the time, stenciled accent walls offer a cool contrast to the rest of the space: just enough texture and pattern and color to make a room more interesting without overpowering. Today, we're going to take a look at various accent walls and then we'd like you to weight in on, "Would you stencil an accent wall?" Ready to be WOW'd? Then let's get started!

Our first stop is with a stencil fan who recently completed this stunning living room accent wall. Michael used our Houndstooth Allover Stencil to create an awesome stenciled feature wall. He wanted a living space that combined a rustic and modern feel so he selected our classic houndstooth pattern and gave it modern twist by using a gray and blue color combination. We love how the stenciled pattern adds a POP of blue color and visual interest to this neutral gray space!

Now the accent wall is going to knock your bedroom socks off! Erin, the diy home renovating blogger behind Olive Our House had a neutral bedroom mission. She painted her walls white, bought a white duvet, and even put down a neutral whitish colored rug. And then she stenciled a not so white pattern. Yearning for pattern and visual interest, Erin stenciled the Fishscale Allover Stencil in navy over the white wall. And WOWZA! Boy did the high contrasting color create a pretty awesome accent wall in her master bedroom! We just love it!

Up until now, we've shown you some color induced accent walls. While an accent wall is a great way to introduce color, it's not always needed. In some cases, your home decor accessories are your pops of color but if you feel that your space needs a little patterned oomph, that's when a stenciled accent wall is the ideal way to go! Check out this gorgeous neutral feature wall in this living room that was designed by Capella Kincheloe Interior Design. Using our Rabat Allover Stencil in a soft beige and white, they've added a pretty but totally not overwhelming pattern to the living room.

We of course don't want you to think that accent walls are limited to bedrooms and living rooms. They can look absolutely fabulous in a bathroom. Take this gorgeous Retro Flame stenciled bathroom that was painted by Gabbi from Retro Ranch Renovations. The bathroom was painted a cool minty shade of green (one of our fav colors!) and to add some depth she stenciled the cool version of the traditional flame stitch pattern in a soft gray. Since both colors are of similar intensity (compared to the fishscale stencil bedroom above), the pattern adds a subtle yet intriguing touch to the bathroom. Gorgeous, right? Right!
