Dining Room Redo Using the Cascade Stencil
A Cascade Stenciled Dining Room Achieves A Wallpaper Look
Welcome back, my stenciling friends! Cutting Edge Stencils hopes you had a stencil-filled weekend. We love seeing our fans' stencil projects, so if you have one, please send it to us. Today, we're going to tempt you with a deliciously stenciled dining room that used a stencil to get a wallpaper like look. Ready to see it? Come check it out.
Let's meet Kirstin, the home decor enthusiast and DIYer behind the blog Things Made New, and admire her dining room makeover featuring one of our lovely stencils. Kirstin and her husband bought a fixer-upper of a home and have been crossing off one DIY project at a time. They started with a very pretty but plain dining room (see below). After putting in a chair rail Kirstin said, "I knew I wanted to do something different above the chair rail, because the dining room just looked a little dull, and I wanted it to be sharper and more interesting." At first she considered wallpaper because she wanted a modern, graphic print. The thought of removing wallpaper in the future put a real damper on that idea. That's when she decided to stencil. Kirstin chose our Cascade Allover pattern because the geometric print had the wallpaper look that she wanted. For the stencil pattern color, she chose a color similar to what was painted below the chair rail. Here she is working through the stenciling process. Kirstin used blue painters tape to adhere her stencil to the wall. This worked best to keep the large geometric design in place. Then she used a roller to paint the stencil pattern. Presto Chango and there you have it folks! Here is Kirstin's stunning dining room. She says, "Our dining room is definitely looking sharper now! I love, love, love it!" We think it looks awesome. Here is a closeup of the pretty stencil pattern. What do you think of this Cascade stenciled dining room? Leave us your thoughts in the comments below!
