Erlene loves dream catchers and has already provided some great tutorials for crafting very pretty dream catchers. When she spotted our new line of Mandala Stencils her DIY wheels started spinning and she felt these new designs were perfect for hand-crafting a dream catcher. Erlene had browsed our new Mandala Stencil collection and fell in love with the Prosperity Mandala Pattern. She decided to stencil drop cloth material that would later be placed into a 23 inch embroidery hoop. She positioned the Mandala stencil pattern on the top of the canvas drop cloth. Then she painted the pattern using white acrylic craft paint. Dip your dense foam roller or stencil brush into the paint. Roll or brush off the excess paint onto your folded paper towel until the roller/brush looks almost dry. The key to stenciling is using as little paint as possible. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed and smudge. Painter's tape can help hold the stencil in place. She then enhanced this project with some stenciled feathers using our 6 piece Feathers Stencil Kit. Are you ready to see how it turned out? Here is her Prosperity Mandala stenciled dream catcher! Erlene commented, "Here it is hanging in my oldest daughter’s room. It goes perfect with the rest of her decor and I plan on creating a colored version for her younger sister too!"
