How To Make Rustic Christmas Wall Art Using Stencils
Welcome back, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends. This Holiday season why not decorate your home with some hand-crafted Christmas wall art? It is very easy to make DIY wall art using paint, a
stencil pattern and reclaimed wood. Today we're sharing how you can hand-craft your own wood wall art using our
Christmas Tree With Lights Card Stencil ,
Damask Christmas Tree Card Stencil,
Scroll Christmas Tree Card Stencil,
Striped Christmas Tree Card Stencil from the Christmas Stencil Collection.
We'd like you to welcome back Greg, one of the Cutting Edge Stencils owners and a creative DIYer. Rather than deck the halls with holly, Greg decided to decorate his walls with hand-crafted stenciled art. For our visual fans, you're going to love this stencil tutorial that Greg put together. In this short video, he shows fans how easy it is to stencil pallet art using the
Christmas Stencils.
Let's walk through the steps for completing this project. Greg had an old piece of plywood laying around the office and decided to put it to good use. He used a saw to cut the plywood and create his wooden canvas (about 13 inches long).
Then he decided to use our four different
Christmas Tree Card Stencils for this festive project. The four Christmas Tree patterns are uniquely designed but work perfectly together for craft or card size projects.
Once he had his wooden canvas and stencils in hand, he was ready to start
stenciling! He carefully taped the
Scroll Christmas Tree Stencil down using blue painter's tape.
Greg made sure he brushed off any excess paint on a piece of paper towel. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed. He painted the
Christmas pattern with
Plaster Paint Simple White using a stencil brush.
After each design was painted, he would carefully remove the stencil. Then he would place the next
Christmas Tree Stencil on the wood board.
Greg repeated these steps until all four
Christmas Tree Stencil designs were painted on the wood. Then he stepped back to admire his cheerful Christmas wall art. Are you ready to see how it all turned out? Here is Greg's reclaimed wood Christmas wall art using the
Christmas Tree Stencil patterns.
This DIY decorating project was super easy to complete and we love the rustic charm that our Christmas Tree stenciled wall art adds to our space.
