Keep reading this post and be sure to hop on over to her blog and enter her $50 stencil giveaway! Anam wanted to craft some Bohemian inspired wall art for her home. She browsed our Wall Art Stencil collection and fell in love with our new Dream Catcher Wall Art Stencil. Although this pretty stencil pattern looks good anywhere, they were traditionally designed to be placed over the bed. The inner web of this stencil design catches dreams. The bad dreams can’t find their way through the web and perish, while the good dreams come through the web and flow down the feathers to the sleeping person below. The first thing she did was paint it using a marbling technique which you can read about here. She positioned the dream catcher stencil pattern on the top of the canvas. Then she painted the pattern using DecoArt Paints in white. Dip your dense foam roller into the paint. Roll off the excess paint onto your folded paper towel until the roller looks almost dry. The key to stenciling is using as little paint as possible. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed and smudge. Painter's tape can help hold the stencil in place. A project like this is super easy and quick. Anam finished painting the stenciled design and she was ready to hang the hand-made piece of art. Are you ready to see how it turned out? Here is her Dream Catcher stenciled artwork!
