Decorate Your Laundry Room With A Stencil
A Stylish Laundry Room Makeover Using the Sari Paisley Stencil
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Take the chore out of laundry day with a stylish and functional space.
Wall stencils are an easy and inexpensive way to add personality and pattern to a room. Today we have a stenciled laundry room makeover that will hopefully inspire you to bring your space to a new stylish level. Let’s take a look...
We'd like to introduce Holly, the DIY decorating enthusiast behind the blog
HCB Interiors. Holly signed up to participate in a project called the One Room Challenge which was designed by Linda from
Calling it Home. The purpose of the fun challenge was to have DIY bloggers put their creativity, perseverance and patience to test by completing a room makeover in six short weeks. Holly's goal was to makeover her laundry room into a space that is more functional and visually appealing. Holly commented, "It is a very narrow room, with barely enough space to squeeze in a laundry basket. It's also a catchall for anything that doesn't have a home, so the space gets even narrower with all the junk piled up." Here is the room she started with...
Holly had a big project ahead of her and only six short weeks to complete it. She had a laundry list of DIY projects and to help rein in her creativity she put together an inspiration board. Holly felt drawn to pretty patterned walls but expensive wallpaper was out of the question. Luckily for Holly, she stumbled upon our large collection of wall stencils. Stenciling a wall pattern allows you to achieve a wallpaper like look for a fraction of the cost. First she painted the room in Benjamin Moore White Dove OC-17. Then she browsed our large collection of stencils and fell in love with the
Sari Paisley Allover Stencil, an exotic Indian inspired pattern.
After her laundry room was painted in the creamy shade of white, she painted the pretty paisley design in Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze. She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place on the wall. Then she poured her paint into a small tray and painted with a dense foam roller.
Once the stencil was complete, Holly completed the makeover with several DIY projects. You can read about the details of her
One Room Challenge on her blog. Ready to see how her stenciled laundry room turned out?
Now this is a space that we wouldn't mind spending loads of time in. Here is a close-up of the pretty wall pattern.
Holly had this to say about her stencil project, "
What a great experience - totally worth it!" We're happy to hear that because we think her makeover is gorgeous!
