Decorate Your Space With Mandala Stenciled Wall Art
Use Wall Stencils To Craft Custom Reclaimed Wood Art
Welcome back, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends. Bring the warmth and character of reclaimed barn-wood into your home. Today we're sharing how to craft wooden wall art from old pieces of wood using our
stencil designs. Come take a look at how our
Prosperity Mandala Stencil can be used for custom artwork.
We'd like to introduce Stephanie Crane, a creative stencil fan and the owner of a Florida based face-painting company,
Joyful Faces. Stephanie has an amazing artistic talent so when she's not painting faces, she loves to craft DIY art. She had an old piece of reclaimed fence wood laying around her house. It was about to go in the trash when she decided to create custom artwork. She set up her crafting station and cleaned off the wood. Then she painted it a dark gray hue using latex paint.
After the wood was painted and ready to go, Stephanie decided to use one of our
Mandala Stencils for this fun project. She selected the
Prosperity Mandala Stencil, a popular pattern that symbolizes opulence, luxury and the good life.
With her gorgeous Mandala pattern in hand she was ready for the fun part,
stenciling! Stephanie chose to use the 24" medallion for this project. She placed it on top of the wood. For this project, Stephanie was using white acrylic craft paint as a base color for her stencil. She poured her paint into the paint dish and then evenly loaded the dense foam roller with white paint.
Stephanie made sure she rolled off any excess paint on a piece of paper towel. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed. Then she painted the mandala design.
Then to enhance the beautiful pattern, Stephanie used Viva Decor Inka Gold paint in Steel Blue and Violet. Inka-Gold Paint is a fast drying metal gloss paint; containing Natural Bees Wax. She applied the paint using a foam stippler brush.
Stephanie varied the hues to meet her personal preference.
Once the entire design was painted, Stephanie lifted the stencil back to reveal the pattern. Here's how her DIY project turned out!
It's gorgeous! And it's amazing how she used old wood and turned it into this Mandala art treasure. Stephanie commented, "Today's art is brought to you by
Cutting Edge Stencils. This design is the Prosperity Mandala."
She didn't stop there! Stephanie pulled together some pallet wood and then stenciled it with our
Feathers 6 Piece Stencil Kit.
Wait there's more! She decided to combine the
Prosperity Mandala Pattern and the
Feathers Stencil Kit to create a beautiful dreamer design on wood. How creative is this?
