Cutting Edge Stencils shares how to craft Pop Art inspired artwork using our Roses Wall Stencil. http://www.cuttingedgestencils.com/products/roses-stencil-pattern-rose-design We'd like to welcome back Anam, the creative DIYer and furniture makeover queen behind the blog Delicious and DIY. Anam loves all things DIY and her blog is a little gem for furniture makeover projects. She wanted to craft some Pop art inspired artwork for her home. She had used the Roses Stencil for a previous craft project and loved the pattern so much she wanted to use it again. The great thing about our stencils is that they are reusable. The Roses Allover Stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils. http://www.cuttingedgestencils.com/products/roses-stencil-pattern-rose-design Anam purchased a large white canvas to paint. She planned to paint the canvas in multiple colors and stencil the pretty flower pattern on top. With that thought in mind, she selected five DecoArt paint colors for her project. She dabbed Hot Pink, Purple, Pink, Yellow and Lime Green along the edge. Then using a chip brush, she pulled the colors across the canvas. Anam ran the paint brush in one direction to avoid mixing the paint colors. She positioned the flower stencil pattern on the canvas. Then she painted the pattern using DecoArt Paint in turquoise. Dip your stencil brush into the paint. Brush off the excess paint onto your folded paper towel until the brush looks almost dry. The key to stenciling is using as little paint as possible. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed and smudge. Painter's tape can help hold the stencil in place. A project like this is super easy and quick. Anam enhanced her artwork by adding highlights to some of the roses using Gold Liquid Gilding and a fine tipped paint brush. Once it was complete, she was ready to display it in her space.
