Do Something Crafty Challenge Using Stencils: Voting Begins

DIY Crafts Using Alphabet Letter Stencils That Are Easy and Fun

Welcome back, my stenciling friends! Cutting Edge Stencils hopes everyone had a fun craft-filled weekend. Now if you remember on Friday, we shared some awesome crafts using stencils. They were part of the Do Something Crafty Challenge created by Vanessa, from See Vanessa Craft. Here is a quick recap in case you missed it:

The Do Something Crafty Challenge: Vanessa challenged her clever and oh-so creative contributors to a friendly little craft competition using our Chevron Letter Stencils. Each gal was able to select the letters of their choice, some stenciling supplies and they were told to Do Something Crafty (#DoSomethingCraftyChallenge) with them! The only rule was that they had to use at least one stencil in their project in some way. Other than that, they could think outside of the box and get creative. On Friday, we shared three of the projects and today we're sharing the final two. Once you check them all out, hop on over to See Vanessa Craft to vote for your favorite stenciled craft. The blogger with the most votes will be announced on September 19th and will win a $50 stencil gift card.

Rachel decided for her project to create a fab yet functional craft item for moms. She was tired of having her kids toys tossed throughout the house. That's when her crafting light bulb went off and she decided to make each one a personalized activity mat. She used a rectangle shaped piece of burlap and stenciled our Chevron Letter Stencil using craft paint. She used painters tape to hold her stencil in place and a stencil brush to paint the zippy initial. Rachel said her "littles loved" this project. We do too! Melanie wanted to do something super clever with her Chevron Letter Stencil. She said, " I was laying in bed and glanced up at my wooden wardrobe from IKEA that has been in my room 6+ years unnoticed. It has 4 plexiglass type windows in the middle door section." That's when she knew it was the perfect spot to stencil the letters she had chosen, LOVE. Melanie used painters tape to hold her stencil in place on the plexiglass door panels and a stencil brush to paint the pattern. We love how this project turned out!
