Welcome back, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Stencil patterns are a great way to add a decorative element to an old mirror. Stenciling a mirror can help hide the nicks and marks of an old piece. It's an easy way to add a stylish pattern and create custom art. Today we're sharing inspiration to show you how a stencil pattern can embellish an old mirror. Come check it out... Resonance Stenciled Mirror First up we'd like to introduce Carolann, the creative DIYer behind the blog Sassy Town House Living. Carolann had an old decorative mirror that she didn't want to throw away. It was a part of an old bedroom set and she felt it would make a lovely piece of wall art. The first thing she did was refinish the frame. The mirror itself was beat up but since she didn't plan to replace it, stenciling was the next option! Carolann browsed our website and selected the Resonance Wall Art Stencil, a modern pattern inspired by sound waves. She used blue painter's tape to hold the stencil in place and painted the pattern in red and metallic gold using a stencil brush. When it was complete, she lifted the stencil off to reveal the pretty design. She had this to say about her project, "It’s such a delight to know that I’ve turned my old mirror into a work of art I can enjoy every day. Harmony Damask Stenciled Mirror Next up we'd like to welcome Gail, the creative DIYer behind the blog My Repurposed Life. Gail had a plain mirror she wanted to embellish with a stencil pattern. She browsed our website and selected the Harmony Damask Stencil, a classic damask design. She used blue painter's tape to hold the stencil in place and painted the pattern in white using a dense foam roller. If you are recreating this project at home then be sure to roll off any excess paint. Too much paint on your brush or roller will cause the paint to bleed under the stencil.
