Welcome back, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends. Add unique style to your home with a custom piece of wall art. It is very easy to make DIY wall art using paint, a stencil pattern and an old wooden pallet.
Today we're sharing how you can create your own DIY pallet art using our 10 Arrows Stencil Kit from the Craft Stencil Collection.
We'd like you to welcome back Greg, one of the Cutting Edge Stencils owners and a creative DIYer. Not too long ago, Greg decided to take a crack at crafting some DIY art using a pallet and stencil. Greg's Feather Stenciled Pallet Art was a huge success. The project was so simple to create that Greg decided to craft more DIY art using an old pallet and craft stencils. For our visual fans, you're going to love this stencil tutorial that Greg put together. In this short video, he shows fans how easy it is to stencil pallet art using the Arrows Stencils.
Let's walk through the steps for completing this project. Greg had an old pallet laying around the office and decided to put it to good use. He used a saw to cut the pallet into six pieces.
Greg decided to use our Arrow Stencil Kit for this fun project. It's perfect for a project like this because it contains 10 hand-drawn arrow stencils, each with its own unique character.
Greg used wood glue to affix the six pieces of wood together. Then he decided to paint every other panel using three different glaze colors. The colors he chose for this project included red, blue and purple.
Once the glaze was dry, he was ready to start stenciling! He carefully taped one of the arrow stencils down using blue painter's tape.
Greg made sure he brushed off any excess paint on a piece of paper towel. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed. He painted the tribal arrow pattern with Plaster Paint Simple White and black using a stencil brush.
After each board was painted, he would carefully remove the stencil. Then he would place the next arrow stencil on the next board. To mix things up a bit, he painted two arrows in black.
Greg repeated these steps until all six pieces of wood were stenciled. Then he stepped back to admire his eye-catching wall art. Are you ready to see how it all turned out? Here is Greg's DIY pallet art using the Arrow Stencil Patterns.
We love how the hand-drawn arrows enhance the rustic charm and character of an old wooden pallet.
