Make Rustic Christmas Art Using The Deer Head Stencil
Use Wall Stencils To Make Rustic Christmas Home Decor
Welcome back, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends. It's time to deck the halls with stenciled Christmas spirit! If you are looking for easy and affordable ways to dress up your home for the Holidays then our stencil designs can help. Today we're sharing a festive project using reclaimed wood and our Deer Head Stencil.
For our visual fans, you'll enjoy this quick video tutorial showing how to make Holiday reclaimed wood art using our Deer Head Stencil.
Erika, our in-house craft guru, had spotted a wooden wine box sitting in the trash. She scooped up the wood and decided to use it to craft rustic Christmas decor.
Erika took the wooden box apart. She used a wood glue to hold two panels together and then nailed a supporting piece of wood on the back side. This created her wood canvas.
Erika let the wood glue dry over night. Then she sanded the wood canvas.
After the wood canvas was prepped and ready to go, Erika painted it white using Benjamin Moore Navajo White.
Then she was ready to start stenciling. She decided to use our medium Deer Head Wall Art Stencil for this festive decorating project.
She sprayed the back of the stencil with Sticky Note spray adhesive which can be purchased from your local craft store or Amazon. Repositionable spray adhesive can help hold the stencil in place and reduce bleed.
She placed the stencil on top of the painted wood.
Erika chose to paint the pattern in Benjamin Moore Ladybug Red 1322 using a 4" dense foam roller.
Erika made sure she brushed off any excess paint on a piece of paper towel. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed.
Once the entire design was painted, Erika lifted the stencil back to reveal the deer head pattern.
This project was super simple and Erika completed it in less than an hour. Are you ready to see how her Christmas inspired wall art turned out? It's perfect for the upcoming holiday!
She placed the rustic stenciled wall art above her fireplace mantle. As always, we love how she manages to take someone's trash and turn it into a decorating treasure.
This deer head stenciled wall art certainly brings a bit of joy to her space.
