Save Money With A Stenciled Backsplash
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends! The backsplash is a part of the kitchen that can easily impress visitors at first sight. Adding a little style and personality to your kitchen backsplash is easy and affordable using
stencil patterns. A small enhancement, like
painted wall designs or stenciled backsplash, can go a long way in terms of decor. Today we're going to inspire you with a simple yet stylish kitchen upgrade featuring a stenciled backsplash. Come take a look...
We'd like to introduce Kevin, the creative DIYer behind
Daily Dose of Kevin. Kevin has an open floor plan in his home and recently painted the first floor a creamy white. The creamy white hue did wonders for the open space but it left the kitchen feeling lackluster. Kevin commented, "The white was doing nothing for all that wood, and just looked washed out and lifeless. " This is what the kitchen looked like before:
A tiled backsplash would have been an amazing upgrade for this kitchen but it just wasn't in the budget. Kevin chose the next best thing,
wall stencils! He browsed our website and selected the
Myriad Allover Stencil. The contemporary wall design is perfect for adding a subtle pattern to a kitchen backsplash.
With his new stencil in hand, Kevin was ready to start
stenciling! He used blue painter's tape to hold the stencil in place and he painted the pattern in Chocolate Froth by Behr, a soothing shade of gray. After each section was complete, he would untape the stencil and reposition to finish the pattern on the wall. Ready to see how his stenciled backsplash turned out? Here it is!
Kevin had this to say about his makeover, "Yay! I think the stencil adds just enough variation to the white to give it a little dimension, but it's still subtle and doesn't overpower anything. "
Kevin mentions in his blog that "every time I look over into the kitchen, I feel so happy seeing all those sweet little dots."
We love the character that the
modern wall pattern adds to this kitchen.
