Happy Friday, my DIY decorating friends! Yesterday we got our Ethan Allen The New Eclecticism, the latest and greatest catalog, in the mail. We love browsing home decor catalogs like Ethan Allen's and spotting all the pretty patterns and gorgeous array of colors. As we were flipping through it, we spotted a pattern that looked just like our Nagoya stencil design. Then we turned the page and spotted one that looked just like our Casablanca design. Of course, the $$$ noted next to each of these items was enough to knock our stenciled socks off! Which kind of reminds us of our West Elm post from a couple of weeks ago. Remember when we told you how to steal the look of some of our favorite West Elm looks using stencils? We are back at it again! This time we're going to use our stencils and Benjamin Moore paint colors to recreate the Ethan Allen looks we love. Let's get started...
Stolen Item No. 1: Fretwork Dhurrie Rug
We recently read that navy blue is the new home decor neutral on Elle Decor and after spotting this gorgeous Ethan Allen Fretwork Dhurrie Rug, we can totally see what all the hype is about. We LOVE this Moroccan inspired pattern in a navy and white color scheme. It's a total classic making everything around it look shipshape!
STEAL THE LOOK: Did you know that rug carries a $1,399 price tag? No need to rub your eyes because you read that price correctly. If $1,399 sounds like it's outside your price range (just a little) then we got your back on this one! Buy a plain white or off-white rug. STEAL THE LOOK: There's no need to break the piggy bank over this playful wall art because we can help you get that look for a whole lot less. Recreate this item by stenciling our Nagoya Craft Stencil ($17.95) in a fun limey hue, like Benjamin Moore's limeade CSP-865, on a piece of canvas board. Then insert the canvas board into a simple white frame and ta-da! Your little girl will be delighted by awesome wall decor!
Stolen Look No. 3: Fairmont Houndstooth Bed
The second we spotted this Houndstooth headboard, we were in awe. Simply put, it's gorgeous. But the bed alone, without the customized pattern on the headboard, can cost $2,099. Ouch!
STEAL THE LOOK: Don't crawl back under the bed covers after seeing this price tag. This look is totally achievable with our stencils! STEAL THE LOOK: We're totally confident that we can recreate this look for a fraction of the price. First, purchase a simple white table lamp like this one spotted at Ikea for $14.99. Then paint our Turkish Tulip Craft stencil for $17.95 in a shimmery shade of paint like Benjamin Moore's grenada hills gold 229. Presto chango!
