Stenciled Photo Frames
Creating
stenciled picture frames is a great way to add unique, decorative flair to your
home decor! Ashley, from
Shanty 2 Chic, stenciled these wooden frames with Cutting Edge Stencils'
Turkish Tulip pattern, and they turned out ADORABLE! We've mentioned these exceptionally cute frames and another blogger's take on stenciled photo framing in the blog:

But, in case you're too busy to check it out, here's some of the deets: Ashley used Rust-Oleum Heirloom White spray paint as the base coat to cover a few plywood boards. Then she applied our Turkish Tulips in Slate Grey by Americana acrylic paint using the dry-brush method. Finally, Ashley hung a 5X7 frame on each board with a nail (after ripping off the cardboard backing). And that's it! Sounds simple enough, right?
Stenciled Clothing
So often we are asked the question, "Can I stencil on fabric?" Of course you can! In fact, we encourage it! Stenciled fabric can be employed for many purposes: curtains, rugs, upholstery, and even clothes! Our friends from the blog
Uncommon Designs stenciled this embellished hoodie with our
Butterfly Blooms No. 3 design. (You can find the tutorial on this project
here!) They used a sponge applicator to apply the craft paint to the garment.
Quick Tip: When stenciling on fabric, add some textile medium (sold in craft stores) to your stencil acrylics to create a half paint, half textile solution. Also, "
heatsetting" the stencil after it dries will prevent wear and tear in the wash. Read our

Stenciled Treasure Box
We showed Sarah Ortega, of the
Sarah Ortega blog, so much love after she used our
Zinnia Grande stencil to create four very different stencil projects. We featured them all in our blog:
One Flower Stencil, Four Stencil Projects! The one we want to spotlight today, is her Zinnia stenciled treasure box! She coated the plain, wooden box with turquoise paint, and then stenciled over it with our dense foam roller and white acrylic paint. She spilled the design onto the front and side of the box to give it a little dimension as well! Sarah also fixed a piece of scrap booking paper to the inside lining. This is such a sweet and simple craft!
Stenciled Wall Art
Recently, we posted a blog:
Stenciled Wall Art Pieces. In it, we featured a whole bunch of examples of stenciled canvases and wood artwork, but none were as innovative and charming as this specific piece. Heather, from
Twin Dragonfly Designs, stenciled this creative wall art with our
Paisley Allover stencil pattern. She upcycled the piece from an old wall hanging found at a garage sale that was past its prime into a modern masterpiece. Heather replaced the backing with a new wood board, which was painted in a nutmeg color, and then stenciled with the paisley design using a semi gloss varathane. The design is subtle, yet the artwork as whole is very impressive!
