Welcome back, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends. There are many ways to dress up plain stair risers including paint, carpet, and even stencil designs. Our stencils are a surefire way to make your stairs standout! A stencil pattern is an easy and inexpensive way to add style to a stairway. Today we're sharing a stenciled staircase project using one of our Indian Inlay Stencil Kit. Come take a look and remember to pin now, so you can complete your project later! Cutting Edge Stencils shares how to stencil stair risers using the Indian Inlay Stencil Kit from Kim Myles. http://www.cuttingedgestencils.com/ We'd like to introduce Jane, the creative DIYer behind the blog Oh Curiosity. The stairs in the entryway of Jane's home were crafted from simple plywood since she couldn't afford to install hardwood. A stairway like this left her with two options, either paint the wood or cover them with carpet. Here is what they looked like before the makeover. The first thing she did was add moulding and paint the treads to look like marble. Jane knew the Indian Inlay Stencil Kit by Kim Myles was the perfect stencil design for her stair riser project. Jane painted the stair risers in a color similar to Farrow & Ball in Pitch Blue, a beautiful navy hue. She used blue painter's tape to hold the stencil pattern in place and used a stencil brush to paint the inlay inspired design in a color similar to Farrow & Ball in Comfort White. After each section was painted, she would carefully remove the stencil and reposition until each riser was complete. At the end of her project, she stepped back to admire her beautiful work.
