Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Are you ready to try our super simple DIY decorating projects that can be completed in a just a day AND deliver big-time personality? We thought so! Our
stencil designs can help you add a dash of style to any space. Let's take a look...
We'd like to welcome back Jessica, the creative DIYer behind the blog
Designer Sweet Spot. Jessica lives in Wisconsin where it's common to see personalized Barn Quilts as you drive through the countryside. She decided to put her own spin on this common item. Jessica had some old cedar fence boards laying around. She explains on her blog how she built her sign, so make sure you visit to see the complete tutorial. We're going to focus on the
stenciling. After the boards were sanded, she stained them using English Ironstone White Stain. Jessica browsed our website for the perfect
stencil pattern and selected the Augusta Tile Stencil, a
Portuguese Tile Stencil. She placed the
geometric stencil on the wood and used blue painter's tape to hold it in place. Then she painted the tile stencil pattern in acrylic craft paint in four different colors. A quick coat of polyurethane was applied to protect it from the elements. We love how her rustic stenciled sign turned out!
We'd also like to welcome back Anam, the creative DIYer behind the blog
Delicious and DIY. If you've been following her blog, and we know you have, then you've seen that Anam has a passion for upcycling old furniture. Well when you love to make old furniture look new using paint and stencil, you don't want your beverages to ruin your hard work! So she decided to craft some custom coasters using cork and our stencils. Anam bought plain square cork coasters from Michaels. Then she decided to spice them up with stenciling. She selected our
Paisley Craft Stencil, one of our popular
craft stencils. Anam taped off the coaster diagonally and applied gold leaf to one half. Then she chose to stencil the other half. She placed the stencil pattern over the coaster and painted the pattern in Coral, Purple, Teal and Sky Blue. Her project was super simple and yet oh-so-stylish!
