Create A Paisley Accent Pillow
Stenciled Accent Pillows Using the Paisley Paint-A-Pillow Kit
Happy Friday, my crafty friends.
Cutting Edge Stencils wants to know what crafts you all planned this weekend? We have the perfect DIY craft in mind, accent pillows! So where do we turn when we want to make designer accent pillows? Our sister company
Paint-A-Pillow. Their pillow kits make creating DIY accent pillows super easy and affordable. Today we're sharing how to craft accent pillow projects featuring our
Paisley Paint-A-Pillow.
We'd like to introduce
Molly, a clever crafter and the blogger behind
Just A Little Creativity. Molly loves easy craft projects so when we reached out to see if she'd like to sample Paint-A-Pillow, she jumped at it! Molly browsed the large collection of pillow patterns and selected a playful pattern that would work in multiple spaces of her home, the
Paisley Paint-A-Pillow. Then she selected white pillow covers and several Jacquard fabric paints to complete her project. Let's take a sneak peek at her stenciled accent pillows:
You know we're a sucker for Paisley and these are painted in our favorite Springtime hues! Let's talk about how you can recreate Molly's pretty paisley pillows. After you finish reading this tutorial, please make sure you stop by Molly's blog and enter her
Paint-A-Pillow giveaway. Molly was excited when this box containing everything she needed to create a fabulous accent pillow showed up at her doorstep. She said, "Listen, when I say they've included everything you may need in one kit, they really have."
Molly set up her crafting area and was ready to go. She decided to paint the pillow using a dense foam roller in turquoise. She was careful to not overload the roller with too much paint because this would have caused the paint to bleed under the stencil.
After the pattern was completely painted, Molly lifted the stencil to reveal the gorgeous design. Molly commented, " This blue pillow was my very first attempt, and as you can see, there was no bleeding under the stencil. I'm so happy with the results."
After the turquoise pillow was painted, Molly created two more pillows using the same pattern but in different vibrant colors. Then she followed the directions listed
here to heatset the pillows. OK, ready to see those fabulous stenciled pillows again? Here they are:
Because the pillows are so versatile, Molly said, "They make our front porch entrance so welcoming."
Molly's pillow also add a nice pop of color to a trunk that she recently made over.
