Happy Friday, my craft friends. Do you have any fun craft projects lined up this weekend? Well if you're looking for ideas then you're looking in the right place. For those that missed it, we introduced Paint-A-Pillow here but to give you a quick refresher, it's an innovative stenciling kit that will allow you to create your own designer accent pillows in a snap. Today we're sharing a stenciled pillow idea that will be fun to create and add a pop of color to your space. Come take a look... Paint-A-Pillow shares how to create DIY designer accent pillows using the Tribe stencil pattern in a snap. http://paintapillow.com/index.php/tribe-paint-a-pillow-kit.html We'd like to introduce Holly, the clever crafter behind the blog 504 Main. Holly has used Cutting Edge Stencils for multiple craft projects in the past and jumped at the chance to try our latest and greatest craft kit, Paint-A-Pillow. It was perfect timing because Holly has been a busy craft bee with a backyard makeover. She thought that new outdoor accent pillows were the perfect pops of color to add to her new space. She ordered the Tribe Paint-A-Pillow kit along with an extra pillow cover, rhinestones and several fabric paints in turquoise, apple green, and neutral gray. We're going to give you a quick glimpse at her stenciled creation and then we'll fill you in on all the details! Ok, so here is how she crafted those beauties. Holly ordered the Tribe kit which included everything she needed to make one accent pillow. We're talking about the stencil, pillow cover, pillow insert, fabric paint, and painting tools. The kit also comes ready to go as soon as the box is opened. She poured her paint colors in to a foam tray. Holly gave her readers this stencil tip, " Begin with your lightest color and work into your darkest." Holly took her own advice and started painting the Tribe pattern in gray using the stencil brush. Bursh off the excess paint onto a folded paper towel until the brush looks almost dry. The key to stenciling is using as little paint as possible. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed and smudge. Then she painted the green and blue stripes. Holly placed the sparkly crystals along the turquoise stripe.
