We'd like to introduce
Erin, the creative DIYer behind the blog
Upside of Chaos. Erin loves everything the Fall season has to offer. From hot mugs of cocoa to flannel shirts, but she especially loves decorating for this crisp season. Erin was looking for a crafty way to enhance her decor when she discovered the Halloween stencils for
Paint-A-Pillow. She browsed the new stencil collection and chose our classic
Pumpkin pattern. Then she selected white pillow covers and Jacquard fabric paint in orange to complete her project. Here is a sneak peek at what she created:
Who wouldn't want to sip a pumpkin latte while relaxing in this gorgeous Fall-infused setting? We certainly would! Now let's talk about how you can recreate those adorable pumpkin pillows. Erin opened her Paint-A-Pillow box and was ready to start stenciling since the kit comes with all of the supplies needed.
She placed her items in her crafting space and was ready to start her project. Erin used a dense foam roller to paint the pumpkin in orange.
Erin painted the stem of the pumpkin apple green using a stencil brush.
Erin wanted the pumpkin to have a little dimension so she added a bit of shading to the pumpkin shape using a touch of black paint.
After her pillow was painted, she lifted the stencil to reveal her pretty pumpkin pattern. She created a second pillow using the same stencil pattern.
After the paint was dry, she used an iron to heat set the cover so that it was washable.
Here's another look at Erin's DIY Pumpkin stenciled accent pillows. She said, "The white pillow cases are a great punch of brightness for my couch. Now if you don't mind I'm going to curl up with the tea and croissants and enjoy the fall breeze coming in through the windows. Happy Fall!"
