Learn How To Stencil A Pineapple Tote Bag
Stencil Patterns Can Make A Plain Tote Bag Look Stylish
Welcome back, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends. Do you love tote bags? We certainly do! They are perfect for taking to the pool, the beach, the farmer's market, and everywhere! Today we're sharing a cute hand painted tote bag using our
tropical stencils that is so easy to make that you'll want to make several. Let's take a look.
Let's walk through the steps for completing this fun and easy craft. Kristina purchased the Amanda Canvas tote bag in a natural color from Liberty Bags on Amazon. She planned to give the plain $7 tote bag a tropical feel using our
Pineapple Stencil and craft paint.
The first thing she did was use painter's tape to mask off the bottom portion of the tote.
Then she painted the bottom portion of the bag in Folk Art's licorice paint.
After the bottom of the bag was painted, Kristina was ready to start
stenciling. She browsed our large collection of craft stencils and chose the
Pineapple Stencil pattern. The fruity pattern is fun and summery so it's perfect for a tote.
She applied a repositionable craft spray adhesive to the back of the stencil and positioned it on the tote bag.
She painted the design with a small dense foam roller in DecoArt Champagne Gold. If you are recreating this project at home, please make sure you brush off any excess paint onto a piece of paper towel. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed.
Kristina lifted the stencil to reveal her
Pineapple design and then she repositioned the tropical pattern and painted it again. She did this until the tote bag was covered with pineapples.
Are you ready to see how it all turned out? Here is Kristina's stenciled tote bag.
Mahalo! From the beach to the store, this pineapple stenciled tote bag is perfect for any Summer outing.
We simply love how Kristina gave a $7 tote bag a whole new look using paint and a stencil.
