Paint-A-Pillow is on Target With the Tribal Arrow Trend
Personalized DIY Accent Pillows Using the Tribal Arrow Stencil
Good morning, my home decor enthusiasts.
Cutting Edge Stencils is pretty sure you've noticed that there's been a surge in popularity of arrow themed home decor. Move over chevron because there is a new sharp shooter in town. These pointed sharp shapes are everywhere and we have some awesome allover stencil patterns that are on target with this trend.
If you love the look of arrow themed decor then our
Indian Arrow and
Tribal Arrows stencil patterns are a perfect match.
Furniture Alchemy painted this shabby chic entry table and stenciled a trendy arrow motif using the
Indian Arrow.
Are you not quite sold on the arrow motif trend? Aside from stenciling a wall or a piece of furniture the easiest way to introduce a trend to your current home decor is with stenciled pillows. Today we're going to hand over the blog to our sister company,
Paint-A-Pillow. For those that missed it, we introduced Paint-A-Pillow
here but to give you a quick refresher, it's an innovative stenciling kit that will allow you to create your own designer accent pillows in a snap.
We'd like to introduce Angela, the decor enthusiast behind the blog
Number Fifty-Three. Angela has stenciled several wall projects in her home including this
Tea House Trellis accent wall using chalkboard paint. She jumped at the chance to try Paint-A-Pillow but was slightly fearful because she had never stenciled on fabric before. Angela explored the
Paint-A-Pillow website and selected the super trendy tribal pattern, the
Tribal Arrows Paint-A-Pillow. She also purchased several extra paint colors. Here is what Angela created with her pillow stencil kit:
Do you love it or do you love it? We sure do! Now let's talk about how you could easily recreate these pretty pillow covers.
Angela and her cat Figgy were thrilled when they received her kit in the mail.
Angela commented that as she opened her box, "
Everything came neatly packaged and ready to use."
Angela set up her craft space and she was ready to start stenciling. She used a dense foam roller to paint the arrow pattern in gray. She randomly painted a single arrow in turquoise. If you're recreating this at home, be careful not to overload the roller with paint. Roll off the excess paint onto a folded paper towel until the brush looks almost dry. The key to stenciling is using as little paint as possible. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed and smudge.
Once the entire pillow cover was painted, Angela peeled back the metal tabs holding the stencil in place and cleaned off the stencil in the sink. Ready to see how her stenciled pillow cover turned out?
Angela wrote, "
This is Figgy's completely serious 'she is totally not kidding this project is easy and customizable and you will love it' face."
Here is the close-up of the arrow stenciled pillow. Look how clean and crisp those arrows are from using the kit.
