DIY Nature Inspired Accent Pillows

Craft Designer Accent Pillows With Nature Inspired Stencils

Happy Friday, my home decor enthusiasts. As the chilly weather sets in, Cutting Edge Stencils wants you to consider bringing a bit of nature indoors. No, we don't mean a faux tree! We think one of the best ways to invigorate your space is to add DIY nature-inspired designer pillows. Today we're going to hand over the blog to our sister company, Paint-A-Pillow. We introduced Paint-A-Pillow not too long ago and you read all about that here but to give you a quick refresher, it's an innovative stenciling kit that will allow you to create your own designer accent pillows in a snap. Cris is a bit of a pro when it comes to stenciling and has completed several stencil projects using Cutting Edge Stencils. She was super excited to give Paint-A-Pillow a try and had this to say when it arrived at her doorstop, " The Paint-A-Pillow stencil kit comes with everything for you to create your own designer pillows!" She also purchased several paint colors for her pillow craft. Once she had her kit, she was ready to start stenciling. She used a dense foam roller to paint the leaf pattern in green and the flower design in orange. If you’re recreating this at home, be careful not to overload the roller with paint. Roll off the excess paint onto a folded paper towel until the roller looks almost dry. The key to stenciling is using as little paint as possible. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed and smudge. Then she let her paint dry. WAHLA! Cris had gorgeous accent pillows. Becky loves accent pillows, which you've probably picked up on if you're familiar with her blog. Becky was thrilled to try Paint-A-Pillow and chose the Acacia Kit, a leaf like design. Becky was excited when she opened her pillow kit and saw that " Everything comes ready for you to start painting right away." Becky used the stencil brush to paint her nature-inspired design. She found the small brush to be helpful with painting the small details on the pillow. Once her stenciled pillows were complete, Becky stepped back to admire them. She said, "I have to admit that I am really in love with them. They look super cute all cozied up on my couch."
