Quick and Easy DIY Arrow Pillow + A Giveaway
Stenciling DIY Accent Pillows Using the Tribal Arrows Stencil
Good morning, my craft friends.
Cutting Edge Stencils hopes you had a crafty weekend. We'd love for you to share your stencil projects with us on either
Facebook or
Instagram. Now if you're looking for a craft project that is super easy, lots of fun, and pretty quick then you have come to the right place. We have the perfect project in mind involving
Paint-A-Pillow, our sister company. It's an innovative stenciling kit that will allow you to create designer accent pillows in a snap. Let's take a look.
We'd like to welcome back Elisha, the creative mastermind behind the blog
Pneumatic Addict. Elisha admits that she struggled with adding pattern to her space. Finding the right colors in a pattern that she likes is a constant challenge. So when we introduced her to Paint-A-Pillow, she jumped at the chance to try it. Elisha ordered the
Tribal Arrows Paint-A-Pillow kit, a white pillow cover, and Jacquard Fabric Paint in several different colors. First, we'll give you a quick glimpse of her pretty arrow accent pillow and then we'll fill you in on how you can recreate it.
Don't you love this trendy arrow pattern and color combination? We sure do!
Elisha was excited when her Paint-A-Pillow kit was delivered. After reading through the simple instructions that were included in the kit, she was ready to start painting.
For this project, Elisha chose to paint the arrow design in five different colors using a stencil brush.
** If you're recreating this at home, be careful not to overload the brush with paint. Brush off the excess paint onto a folded paper towel until the brush looks almost dry. The key to stenciling is using as little paint as possible. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed and smudge.
Once the entire pillow cover was painted, she peeled back the metal tabs holding the stencil in place to reveal her painted pillow!
Be sure to clean the stencil off in a sink so that it can be used again for another project. When the pillow cover was dry, Elisha stuffed the insert into the cover.
And there you have it! That's how she created this super stylish accent pillow. Elisha commented, "I'm excited to make a few more for my future living room, but in the meantime this one rests happily on one of my son's beds."
