We'd like to introduce
Jennifer, the domestic DIY queen behind the blog
Town and Country Living. Jennifer talks about her accent pillow problems on her blog. Most of her rooms are pretty neutral which means she can happily decorate with any color she desires. The problem is that as soon as she finds the color she loves, it happens to be in a pattern she dislikes. So when she stumbled upon
Paint-A-Pillow, it was love at first sight. She said, " I realized it’s the perfect solution to my dilemma! I can choose from a variety of patterns and then I can choose the color too!" After browsing the patterns on the site, she chose the
Peacock Feathers Paint-A-Pillow kit with a white pillow cover and several Jacquard fabric paints. Here is a sneak peek at what she created:
From the bright colors to the bold peacock pattern, we love how these accent pillows sing Spring! We know, we know... you love them and now you want to know how to recreate them. We're going to give you a quick snapshot on how she painted these beauties and then we'll share some more pretty photos plus a giveaway!
Jennifer opened her Paint-A-Pillow box and was happy to see it came with all of the supplies she needed. She commented, "The packaging itself impressed me!"
She placed her items in her crafting space and was ready to start her project. Jennifer poured her apple green and turquoise fabric paint into a foam tray. Then she rolled the dense foam roller in the paint. She was careful to not overload the roller because this would cause the paint to bleed under the stencil.
Once her pillow was painted, she lifted the stencil to reveal her gorgeous Peacock Feather pattern. Then she was ready to paint her second pillow. She reversed the colors for the second pillow. And here they are again!
Jennifer had this to say about her stencil project, " I love the colors and I love the pattern. Painting them was the easy part."
