Trendy DIY Accent Pillow Ideas

Craft DIY Designer Accent Pillows With Paint-A-Pillow

Happy Friday, my crafty friends. The winter months can be cold and dreary. We don't know about you, but here at Cutting Edge Stencils tend to hibernate more. So it's the perfect time for us to assess our home decor. Nothing brightens up a space like new accent pillows. We've seen those designer pillows that cost a small fortune and while we love the color and patterns, we just can't justify the price. Our sister company, Paint-A-Pillow, has the perfect solution to all our pillow woes. Let's see how two of our blogger friends used the innovative pillow kit to create gorgeous DIY accent pillows. Oh, and pay attention because both of our pals are hosting pillow kit giveaways! Amy is in the process of moving into a new home and thought that fresh new accent pillows would be the perfect compliment to her new space. She chose the Heritage Grill Paint-A-Pillow kit with a white pillow cover and sky blue Jacquard fabric paint. Amy was so happy when she realized this was a super simple project. She opened the kit and was ready to start stenciling. She poured her fabric paint into a foam tray and rolled the dense foam roller in the paint. She was careful to not overload the roller because this would cause the paint to bleed under the stencil. When the pillow was completely painted, she commented, "Let me tell you, I was so pleasantly surprised when I took off the stencil and saw how great it looked!" Once the paint was dry, she inserted the pillow insert and was ready to snap some pretty pictures. Look how pretty this burst of blue looks! Charlotte has stenciled multiple projects in her home and needed new accent pillows for her living room. Paint-A-Pillow was the ideal solution for pillow update! She chose the Otomi Rooster Paint-A-Pillow kit with white pillow covers, navy blue Jacquard fabric paint, and designer tassels. Charlotte mentions in her blog that the kit comes ready to go noting, "The kit itself comes pretty much locked and loaded." She poured her fabric paint into a foam tray and dabbed her stencil brush into the paint. She tells her readers that, "Excess paint is a stencil projects kryptonite- don’t do it." Instead build your paint coverage slowly on the fabric. Once the paint was dry, she inserted the pillow insert and was ready to snap some pretty pictures. Charlotte said, "Two gorgeous throw pillows ready for business." Doesn't this look gorgeous? Don't miss out on entering the Paint-A-Pillow giveaway on her blog.
