Kammy owns a gorgeous estate with a house called the Gidley Station located on it. The Gidley Station was built to be a railway station, but used as a general store, and eventually moved on to Kammy's property in the 1920's to be used as a tenant house. The house needed to be freshened up and Kammy has been tackling one DIY project at a time. The guest bedroom was on that list and here is what it looked like before its makeover. The wood floor was in good shape however it had been previously painted with red and blue paint. That was not an issue for Kammy because she planned to repaint and stencil it. Kammy loved the idea of stenciling a floor because of the dramatic effect it adds and the affordability it offers. Kammy painted the old floor with a dark gray hue. She had used Prosperity Mandala Stencil to add pattern to an old chair and large wooden wall clock. After she completed the last project, she rinsed off her reusable stencil and put it aside for the next project. She used blue painter's tape to adhere the stencil to the floor. She painted the stencil design in white using a dense foam roller. If you are recreating this project at home, be sure to roll off extra paint so it doesn't bleed under the stencil. The key to stenciling is using very little paint. The Mandala pattern is not intended to be an allover pattern so there are no registration marks to align it. Since this is a free standing pattern, Kammy used her judgement to reposition and complete the floor.
