Hola chicas and chicos! Are you feeling bright and chipper on this day full of potential and positivity? If not, then keep on reading to get your daily dose of motivational inspiration! Today, Cutting Edge Stencils is going to show you how to use polka dot painting stencils to bring a little spotted heaven to your home interior! These dots look so fabulous and fun in a variety of colors and rooms! Let's take a look at what our customers have already done with these polka dot stencils in their homes! Polka Dot Nursery Polka Dot stencils painted in a boy's nursery This adorable spotted nursery was painted by Tiffany, from the blog Making the World Cuter! She used our Polka Dot Allover Stencil in the large size to paint a high contrast colored feature wall for her son's bedroom! The look Tiffany was going for was something cute, but definitely not feminine. That's why she used only one coat of paint on the stencil, to give it a more rugged look that was not too perfect. Tiffany found it helpful to use a thumbtack to help adhere the stencil to the wall along with painters tape. She says that realigning the stencil to complete the repeated, allover pattern was super simple and convenient, as is the ability to repaint the room if the family decides to move, or once the baby gets older (much easier than wallpaper!). After Tiffany watched a few of our how-to stencil videos, she began stenciling on her own and completed the wall in only an hour and half! That must be a new record! Tiffany was so thrilled with the amount of personality that our wall stencil added to her son's room, and we are happy that she's so pleased with Cutting Edge Stencils' product! Spot-a-Dot Closet Paint the inside of your closet with Cutting Edge Stencils' Polka Dots Lately, a bunch of our creative DIY customers have had the genius decorative idea of painting our stencil patterns on the insides of their closets. This stencil idea brings about a small amount of design in a big way! Rebecca, from the blog The Lil House That Could, tackled her green closet with the small version of our Polka Dot Stencil! Pregnant Rebecca opted against spray adhesive and stuck her stencil to the wall with some frog tape. Since Rebecca's closet proved not to be level, she also opted out of using her stencil level. Instead, she lined the stencil up with the corner of the wall and the baseboard. After the first pattern was painted, the others locked in easily based on that alignment. Rebecca's first method was to use a stencil brush on each dot, but she quickly learned that her dense foam roller would apply much cleaner, consistent layers of paint. There were absolutely no bleeding issues since Rebecca didn't overload her roller with paint, and she got such fantastic results! This green closet really pops some polka-dotted color into the room! Sophisticated Spots Sophisticated Spots are possible with Cutting Edge Stencils Who would have thought that polka dots could bring maturity and elegance to your home? Stacy, from Not Just a Housewife, proved us all wrong about these speckled walls being for kids rooms when she used our small sized Polka Dot Allover Stencil! Lucky for us, Stacy shared her paint secrets with us, so you can get the same exact look on your walls! The base color of the wall was custom mixed (color matched) for Stacy at Home Depot. The sample she gave them as reference was a piece of white paper misted with Krylon’s Almond spray paint. The polka dot color paint was also a custom creation. Home Depot mixed a Behr paint out of a combination of the almond and another spray paint called Heirloom White colors. Furthermore, the two paint colors have different finishes, enhancing the tone-on-tone effect. The walls' background color is a semi-gloss and the polka dots have a flat finish! What a cool idea!
