Stencil Patterns Make Crafting Damask Accent Pillows Easy!

Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends. Finding the perfect accent pillow can be a challenge. An accent pillow in the right color and in the perfect pattern is almost impossible task unless you are using our accent pillow stencil kits. Our stencil kits make crafting custom accent pillows super easy. Today we are sharing how to craft a damask accent pillows using a stencil design. We'd like to introduce Angie, the clever crafter behind the blog Slipcovered Grey. Angie admits, "I have a bit of an addiction to pillows as I think they add color, texture, and a feeling of coziness to a room. " So it was a match made in heaven when she discovered our accent pillow stencil kits. The first thing she did was browse our accent pillow kits for the perfect pattern. Angie fell in love with the Gabrielle Damask design. Our stencil kits come with everything needed to complete this easy DIY project including stencil tools. Angie simply selected a white pillow cover and Jacquard Fabric Paint in Turquoise and Neutral Gray. Angie set up her supplies and started stenciling. The stencil design fits securely in the frame so no tape is needed to hold it in place. Then she painted the damask stencil using a stencil brush. Angie poured the paint onto a foam tray and then lightly coated the brush. Be careful not to overload the brush with paint. Be sure to brush off the excess paint onto a folded paper towel until the brush looks almost dry. The key to stenciling is using as little paint as possible. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed and smudge. Once her pillow covers were painted, Angie lifted the tabs holding the stencil in place and revealed her pretty pattern. After the paint was completely dry, Angie heat set the cover according to the instructions. This will allow her to wash it in the future without damaging the paint.
