Cutting Edge Stencils Blog Feature: Casablanca Transformation
Casablanca Transformation Chair Up-D0
Amy from the blog
Casablanca Transformation recently completed a series of stenciled chairs! She experimented with a variety of stencils on different chairs, and advises her audience to go with
stencil patterns that do not require much paint and will allow the majority of the chair background to show though. Not only is this approach aesthetically-pleasing, but it is super easy! To quote Amy, "the trick to stenciling is in using very little paint!" Amy only spent about an hour on each chair when she stenciled her Target barstools with
Cutting Edge Stencils' Marrakech stencil, and the results are absolutely beautiful – see the photo above! To purchase similar stencils check out our gallery of

Additionally, Amy completed a project that required larger areas to be stenciled. For this project, she selected the
Damask by Diane Paparo Studio stencil. Naturally, this stencil project took a bit longer, used more paint, and was a little more difficult than the more open
Marrakech stencil; however, this stencil has a beautiful look, and the results were still stunning!
Stencil Fever
Amy's sister also got on board with stenciling chairs and completed her own project! While she was initially a bit apprehensive to take on such a project after reading her sister's blog and seeing her gorgeous photos, she went for it and was very successful! She used
Cutting Edge Stencils' Zinnia Grande Flower stencil, in small and extra-small, to stencil her leather dining chairs. While her chairs are not genuine leather, using a paint designed specifically for leather surfaces worked quite well! A sponge roller was used to stencil the small flower, and a sponge stencil brush was used to stencil the extra-small flower. Both sponges produced excellent results!
There are so many stencil and paint possibilities when it comes to adding some flair to a leather surface! Love the look? Here's what you can do:
