Dress Up Your Tabletop With A Stencil

Stencils Are A DIY Solution To Brighten An Old Tabletop

Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Are you planning your DIY projects for the weekend? Great, because we have the perfect project for you! Now is the time to makeover that old, dated piece of furniture that's been taking up space in your home. It's easy to repurprose old furniture using paint and our furniture stencils. We have over 70 furniture stencil patterns to choose from to help customize your project and our blog is filled with DIY furniture inspiration. In fact, today we're going to share stenciled tabletop inspiration that will tempt you to try your own project.

We'd like you to meet Michelle, the furniture makeover maven from Our Crafty Mom. Michelle admits that she loves to refinish furniture. Michelle stumbled upon a wooden curbside treasure. She saw potential and decided to give it a makeover. First she sanded it down and painted it using Americana chalk paint in Vintage, a duck egg blue hue. After a fresh coat of paint, the old table was already perking up. Michelle thought it needed a splash of personality. She chose to use her French Poem Craft Stencil pattern in pure white chalk paint. To top it all off, she applied a coat of clear wax. She said, " It is amazing what a couple of coats of paint can do!" We totally agree that paint and a stencil turned this curbside trash into a gem!

Next up, we want to introduce Kathy, the furniture makeover queen from Prairie Peony. Kathy found a pretty French provincial coffee table with matching side tables. The set was beat up but Kathy loves giving new life to old pieces of furniture. She sanded the coffee table down and painted the legs. Kathy chose to stencil the top of the coffee table using the Paisley Allover Stencil. She painted the eye-catching stencil pattern and then applied a stain over it. Kathy completed the table with a coat of dark wax for an antique look. She commented, "I love the paisley pattern so much. It looks fantastic. " We agree that her project looks awesome!
