Stencils And Paint Add New Life to Old Pieces of Furniture
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Spring is almost here and with that we have Spring cleaning (curbside furniture treasures), outdoor flea markets (hidden furniture gems), and warmer weather ( a place to complete all of those DIY furniture projects). The change of seasons has us smiling, how about you? It's easy to upcycle an old piece of furniture using paint and our furniture stencils. With over 70 furniture stencil patterns to choose from, we certainly have something for everyone! Well today we're going to share some stenciled inspiration that will entice you to attempt your own stenciled makeover.
Meet Marie, the creative mind behind The Interior Frugalista. Marie is an avid DIYer and her blog is stocked full of amazing furniture projects. Marie had our Birds of Paradise Stencil on hand. It's a classic damask wall pattern that features antique bird cage and tropical birds.
Marie's husband had stumbled upon this wooden coffee table. The legs were in good shape but the top was beat up. Marie saw a ton of potential. She decided to paint it using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White and French Linen. After a fresh coat of paint, the old table was already perking up. Marie felt it needed a splash of personality. She chose to use her Birds of Paradise Damask Stencil pattern in French Linen and Duck Egg Blue. To top it all off, she applied a coat of dark wax. She said, " I wish I had a house with multiple rooms because I would really like to keep this sweet table but the reality is I don't and so I will sadly have to bid it farewell." We think the stenciled table looks amazing!
