Stencils Spotted in Kim Myles House Tour on Apartment Therapy

Cutting Edge Stencils is excited to share that we recently spotted our pretty stencil patterns while browsing one of our favorite home decor websites,
Apartment Therapy! It just so happens that Apartment Therapy took a tour of the LA happy and chic home of Kim Myles, the stencil design guru who crafted our Indian Inlay pattern. The place is gorgeous. It's filled with color, style and of course stencils. Come take a look!
Just to make sure we're all on the same page,
Kim Myles is the winner of HGTV Design Star, and infectious TV personality on OWN's Home Made Simple, and the creative genius behind some of our most popular stencils. She has a signature style that is both colorful and exuberant.
The first stop in this mini stencil tour is inside the living room of her Southern California home. She shares this vibrant space with her husband, Scott and her adorable rescue dog, Ollie.
Kim has carefully crafted a home that includes a special mix of one-of-a-kind designs, cultural influences, lots of color, and stencils! For the living room, Kim wanted a relaxed vibe with interesting wall decor. She chose to paint an accent wall using her
Belgain Lace Allover stencil pattern. This stencil design was inspired by her grandmother's lace.
First she painted the wall in Benjamin Moore's
decorators white, a soft white with a faint touch of gray. Then she painted the lace-like design in Behr's
chocolate froth, a light beige hue. The color combination and stencil pattern have a clean and modern feel.
Kim selected accent pieces for this room that make a statement, like this vibrant pink Tatum Hand-Loomed Wool Rug from Overstock.com and the gold chair she picked up at a thrift store.
That gorgeous accent wall is not the only place that Kim showcased one of her stencil designs in her home. Her bedroom is also filled with decor eye-candy, including a faux bone inlay dresser that the she painted using our
Indian Inlay Stencil Kit.
This green beauty started out as a plain wooden dresser from Ikea, the
Tarva five drawer chest. Kim painted it using Behr's
scottish isle and then stenciled the bone inlay pattern in Benjamin Moore's
decorators white. Kim calls this piece one of her proudest DIY moments.
We love how she pulled together this space using eclectic pieces to make her beautiful home stylish, cultured and all her own!
