Stenciled Furniture Ideas Using the Lily Scroll Stencil
Stencils Can Give A New Look To Old Furniture
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils fans. Do you have old, boring furniture sitting around? Thanks to our fabulous furniture makeovers on the blog, your tired dressers and desks are just steps away from looking new again.
Painting furniture is an easy and inexpensive way to bring a fresh dose of color and pattern to your home.
Today's furniture inspiration uses one of our most popular furniture stencils, the Lily Scroll Craft Stencil. This pattern has a delicate scroll shape with an elegant and sophisticated feel. It's the perfect way to add a hint of pattern to your shabby chic decor.
We'd like to introduce Kandice, the creative furniture flipper behind the blog
Just The Woods. Kandice loves to transform old pieces of furniture. She had a beat-up looking five drawer, solid-maple dresser. The first thing she did was paint it in a soft white. After the paint was dry, Kandice decided to add a pattern. She browsed our collection of furniture stencils and chose the
Lily Scroll Craft Stencil, an elegant pattern. She chose to stencil the delicate pattern on the front of the dresser drawers using a custom mixed light green hue. She used painter's tape to hold the pattern in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern. To complete the cabinet makeover, Kandice cleaned and painted the vintage handles in white. She commented, "Its delicate design and subtle curves remind me of something that belongs in a bed and breakfast with a lush green garden outside. "
Next we'd like to introduce Evey, the fab DIYer from
Evey's Creations. Evey had a desk that completely lacked personality and if you're a fan of Evey's blog then you know that she has a vibrant, bubbly personality! She wanted a work space that matched her style. The desk was a warm white hue and Evey felt a stencil was the perfect way to add interest. She chose the
Lily Scroll Craft Stencil for this piece. She used painter's tape to hold the pattern in place and a stencil brush to paint the pattern in
Modern Masters Matte Metallics Warm Silver. Once the stencil was dry, she applied a clear protective coat. Evey had this to say about her project, "I am thrilled with the outcome! Isn't she pretty? I, personally, am in LOVE!" We think her new desk looks absolutely amazing!
