Stenciling A Peek-A-Boo Pattern On Furniture

Stencil Patterns Can Add WOW Factor to Old Pieces of Furniture

Good morning, my crafty friends! Do you love seeing a pretty pattern in an unexpected place? We sure do! It can be refreshing and eye-catching to spot a fun design on the side of a dresser drawer when you open it. We, here at Cutting Edge Stencils, think of it as design eye-candy. After all doesn’t every space deserve a stenciled splash somewhere? We’ve rounded up two awesome stenciled DIY projects…

We'd like to welcome back Kimbo, the creative mind behind A Girl and a Glue Gun. Kimbo's daughter needed a desk for her room so she was super excited when she scored a vintage wooden desk. She decided to give it a makeover to better fit the style and sass of her daughter's space. First she coated the wooden desk using a white primer and then she painted it using three cans of sun yellow krylon spray paint. Once the desk looked like a little ray of sunshine, Kimbo kicked it up a notch with a peek-a-boo pattern. She painted the sides of the desk drawers in white and added a fun pattern using our Polka Dot Allover Stencil in black. Then to complete the piece she added one last stenciled surprise. On the inside of the big drawer she painted a black flower using our Zinnia Grande stencil. Kimbo had this to say about her stencil project, "such a fun little pop! I love it so much! Can’t wait until her room is all put together!" Sheila stumbled upon an old dresser and knew it was a flea market find. Since she had been working on so many custom orders for her clients, she was excited to have a project where her creativity could just flow. First she sanded the piece and painted it a gorgeous shade of turquoise. To give it the ultimate WOW factor she stenciled our Indian Inlay Stencil pattern in blue, rose, and gold. Then she lightly sanded the dresser for a distressed look. With such a lovely design painted on these drawers, we'd be surprised if its new owner ever closed them!
